Worship the Lord, with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”  (Ps. 100)

An important part of our worship experience is our music. At Assumption Parish, our music ministry serves the parish family by ensuring full, conscious and active participation in our liturgical celebrations.

Adult Choir

The adult choir sings regularly at the 9 a.m. Sunday Mass. Rehearsal is on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Church Lower Level. We invite new members to join us as we “sing and make music for the Lord all the days of our lives.” (Ps.27)

Children’s Choir

The children’s choir sings on the first Sunday of the month and regularly for school Mass liturgies. Rehearsal is on Monday after school from 2:50 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. in the school music room. The PSR choir rehearses on Monday from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. during the normal PSR schedule.

Both the adult and children’s choirs also perform for special occasions.

Resurrection/Funeral Choir

The resurrection choir provides music for Assumption’s funeral liturgies. It is open to anyone who wishes to minister in song. The most important requirement is a desire to serve our parish family through music.

Cantors sing at all weekend Masses. Their role is to lead the assembly in the sung responses, especially the psalms. Cantors must be confident in their own singing ability and be committed to the frequency and time for which they volunteer.

We welcome instrumentalists to contribute their musical talents to our liturgies. Come to rehearsals on Wednesday to prepare and practice music for upcoming Masses.
