Divine Mercy Study Group

The Divine Mercy Study Group typically meets on the first and third Monday of each month in the Church Lower Level. Studies have included St. Faustina, and acts of divine mercy.

Assumption Pro-Life Card Club

The Card Club is active from September through May. The club members (couples and ladies) play Bridge, Canasta and Pinochle. Anyone interested in playing is welcome to attend; parish membership is not required. There are currently about 50 members of the Card Club, and always room for more. Profits benefit the Pro-Life Committee.

Ladies of the Little Flower

The women of Assumption Parish come together to help each other grow spiritually and socially. Ladies of the Little Flower hope that, as a group working together, they can enrich the lives of others. The group is based on the principles of humility and good deeds exemplified in the life of St. Therese of the Little Flower. The Ladies of the Little Flower meet once a month, September through May. The group collects health care items from various sources, and provides these items to organizations such as Our Lady’s Inn, Our Little Haven, and the Veterans’ Hospital. Women who enjoy gatherings and social activities are encouraged to participate. The ladies meet once a month on Monday evenings in the Church lower level.

Quilters

The Quilters meet weekly to produce masterpieces of their handicraft. Members quilt for hire for those in need of expertise, and the quilters occasionally piece together creations of their own to sell. In addition, the quilters typically create a quilt to be raffled off at a parish event. Proceeds are used to provide altar linens and similar church needs.

Small Church Communities

Small church communities are groups of 10-12 people who meet in one another’s homes to share their faith. They are a means of learning more about the faith and sharing faith within a small support group. The purpose is to connect faith to daily life experiences and to see how God works in each person's life. Individuals pray for and support one another. Parishioners can join an existing small church community or form a new group to share and hear others express their love for God. Members should be willing to participate in sharing their faith in a comfortable atmosphere, maintaining confidentiality and praying and supporting one another. Each group determines meeting days and times. Groups meet weekly, biweekly or monthly. Any adult older than 18 is invited to join a small church group. We also welcome members of other denominations.

Living with Loss Widow/Widower Support Group

If you are widowed and are trying to learn how to Live with Loss, come and join others who truly understand what you are experiencing. We will give you a safe place to express your grief. You will meet others who are, or have been, where you are. It will be a time for those dealing with the loss of a spouse to come together and share their challenges and triumphs. You do not have to be newly widowed to attend. We know that grief is ongoing. We also know that it is in sharing our stories that we help others to get through this most painful time. We meet on the third Sunday of the Month in the Rectory basement (side door along Mattis) from 10:15 a.m. to Noon.
