“The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed ….(Mark 4:31-32)
" Prior to coming to Assumption, I was trained in and led a catechetical program called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This Montessori-based program uses physical materials to aid children and catechists in contemplation. In the Atrium (the environment where CGS is offered) children are introduced to “prayer works” to contemplate the life of Jesus, parables, the liturgy, and more. From the pictures you can see that the children use a variety materials in the Atrium.
Fr. Keller, when he first toured an Atrium in the area, “instantly fell in love” with the program. He has tasked me with building an Atrium for Assumption. We have ambitiously aimed at opening the Atrium in October, but it can only happen with the parish’s help! In the coming weeks, parishioners will be invited to donate needed materials or assist in areas of woodworking, painting, and crafting. If you have these skills or know someone who does, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Parish Office. Registration will begin soon for 3-6 year old children to become the first members of the Atrium."
